Camp Royal
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 5160
Camp Royal

Rotary International District 5160 is proud of its' leadership training program - Camp Royal. Founded in 1979, Camp Royal has become one of the top leadership camps for high school seniors. Student leaders from throughout the district attend this camp to develop advanced leadership skills with help from Rotarians, professional counselors, educators and keynote speakers. The program is a concentrated, energy packed week of information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to school and family as a more effective leader.

Our goal at Camp Royal is to offer advanced leadership skills to young men and women who have had experience in leadership positions. In addition: To emphasize cooperation, excellent ethics and creativity in leadership; To broaden their knowledge of various vocations through interaction with Rotarians of District 5160; To have the campers realize their potential and then to actively apply their new leadership skills when they return to school and family.

If you are currently a Junior in high school and will be a senior next year, I encourage you to think about applying to attend Camp Royal the third week of June this summer. You can print an application from the link in the right, attach an essay about why we should select you for a scholarship to attend camp all expenses paid, and mail to the address indicated by February 1st.

"Camp Royal is wonderful - I would be hard pressed to find a more kindhearted or expressive group of people anywhere. The insights I gathered from campers, counselors and speakers alike have led me to believe that there is hope for our tumultuous globe; that when we grow up our world may very well be a better place." 2002 Camper, Kashy Stec-Neifert.
